and tips on how to clean cotton bags.
Bags made of 100% cotton are becoming more and more popular due to their durability, comfort and ecological nature. However, to keep them in good condition and extend their life, it is worth knowing a few simple rules regarding washing and maintenance.
Here are some tips on how to wash and care for your WHOSE BAG.
Can a cotton bag be washed in a washing machine?
WARNING! An exception is the natural (raw) cotton used in the beige models of the Mediterranean Bag and Uni Bag. Machine-washed fabric is prone to shrinkage.
Many people wonder if cotton bags can be washed in a washing machine . So we will dispel all doubts - Yes, but you should remember several important aspects. First of all, avoid too high water temperatures.
Cotton bags should be washed at max. 30 degrees . This should be especially taken into account, especially in the case of bags with a print that may not survive too high temperatures. For washing, we recommend using a mild detergent or liquid for washing natural fabrics . However, before you throw the bag into the washing machine, turn it over. Avoid drying it in a tumble dryer or in high sunlight - it is best to hang the bag to dry on a dryer.
What about difficult dirt?
If your bag requires more thorough cleaning, we recommend hand washing it . It is also a more gentle way of cleaning than washing the bag in a washing machine,
which minimizes the risk of damaging the bag.
Here are some tips on how you can do this:
- Fill a large bowl or sink with lukewarm water,
- Add a mild detergent for washing natural fabrics,
- Soak the bag for a few minutes,
- Gently rub dirty areas with a brush or sponge,
- Try to avoid soaking for long hours as this may lead to color loss.
- After washing thoroughly, rinse the bag with water and gently squeeze out the excess
- Hang on a drying rack to dry.
